How fast this can be, is dependent on the flow of core processes along the value stream. The design of the Value Stream is the core issue surrounding the important concept of achieving SPEED.  Course Objectives Lean manufacturing requires the elimination of wastes through a fundamental change in the factory workflow from start to end. This is normally achieved through continuous flow of small pitch quantity of in-process materials. The problem is compounded by numerous product line with different flow process configuration and in-process cycle time of man-machine operation. To be able to design the value stream continuous flow require considerable ingenuity in :- a) Layout Line Design b) Work Cell Configuration of Man and Machine c) Process Redesign for small batch processing d) Job Redesign for Cycle Time Balancing e) Cycle Time Engineering of Assembly, Semi-automatic and automatic processes. f) Determination of reliable cycle time
